It’s been nearly four years since the Realtree Fishing KBF TRAIL Series Powered by Dakota Lithium fished on beautiful Lake George in upstate New York, and we are heading back for the fifth stop of the 2023 season. Last time, perennial hammer Ryan Matylewicz won the event with a limit of 86.5”. In that event, less than 2” separated first place from fifth. What does it mean? It means every cast counts when you fish one of the finest lake sin the northeastern U.S.!
Known as the Queen of American Lakes, the lake itself spans around 30 miles from its north end to the south, and drains to both the lake Champlain and the St Lawrence River. A geographical marvel, it is a place every angler should fish at least once. Famous for its panoramic views, its towns and architecture, the lake is also an excellent fishery.
Brian Baulsir of Adirondack Kayak Fishing Charters had the following to say of the lake:
“I am so happy KBF scheduled this event in late May. Lake George is one of the best places to fish in the entire U.S. that time of year. Fish will be caught deep, fish will be caught shallow and there will be six and seven pounders on the board. Lake George is so unique and its water quality and overall health are off the charts, and to have the event on the fishery now is simply amazing. It’s going to be insane.”
If that isn’t a ringing endorsement, what is?
